Hello everyone,
Just a quick run down of coming events and an update on whats happening at the nuclear sites.
First the good news:
Plans for a third nuclear power station at Heysham in Lancashire have been put on ice. French company EDF Energy has cancelled an agreement with the National Grid to set up any new connection to the grid from Heysham.

Dear all,
this is only a brief and quick newsletter to say "Thank you!" to everyone who came to Hinkley last weekend, and helped to make our action a huge success. On Saturday, more than 1,000 protesters joined our commemoration of Fukushima, and demanded an end to plans for new nuclear power stations in Britain (and elsewhere). About 100 stayed on for the first ever 24 hour blockade of a nuclear power station in Britain. We all did it!

Dear all,
only three days to go until Surround Hinkley on 10 March, and the 24 hour blockade of Hinkley Point. Three days for a last push to mobilise people to join us at Hinkley Point, and say "No more Fukushimas! No new nuclear in Britain!"
This newsletter gives some last important updates for everyone wanting to join the Surround Hinkley action and/or the 24 hour blockade this weekend, so please read it and pass it on.

Dear all,
just about 10 days to go until 10 March 2012 - one year since the beginning of the Fukushima disaster, which is far from over. And just about 10 days until Surround Hinkley and the 24 hour blockade of Hinkley Point nuclear power station, which is our way to say "No more Fukushimas! No new nuclear in Britain!". We have been extremely busy since our last newsletter on 19 February, which is why you receive this newsletter a little late. However, it's full of information and updates, so please read it carefully.

Dear all,
it's only three weeks until the big surround and blockade action at Hinkley Point on 10/11 March 2012 - if you haven't sorted yourself out, it's high time to do so. Check out our transport page, and if there is no minibus or coach from your area, then maybe you can organise a car/minibus/coach? If you know of any transport which is not (yet) on our website, then please let us know, so that we can add the information.

Dear all,
even before the preliminary works application has received final approval from West Somerset District Council, EDF moved in on 6 February 2012 (Monday) to remove trees from the proposed Hinkley Point C site. In response, overnight from 6-7 February, anti nuclear activists occupied trees on EDF's proposed new nuclear site west of Hinkley Point in Somerset.

Dear all,
this is our first newsletter since the Stop New Nuclear gathering in Bristol on 5/6 November, where we decided on our next major action. We are all excited about our new plan, and with this newsletter we send you some information about the planned action to surround Hinkley Point on 10 March 2011, followed by a 24 hour blockade until 11 March 2011. All this to mark one year since the beginning of the catastrophe of Fukushima, which is far from over.
